Greenhouses and Growth Chambers

Greenhouses and Growth Chambers

This service offers greenhouses and growth chambers with controlled conditions of light, temperature, photoperiod, humidity and other environmental variables. We try to cover needs coming from ICA researchers, from researchers in other CSIC centers and universities and from private companies.

Materials Characterization

Materials Characterization

The characterization of different types of materials is carried out, establishing both the composition and the determination of certain physical and chemical properties. For this purpose, the samples are studied by Differential Thermal Analysis - Thermogravimetric (DTA-TG), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Porosimetry and Specific Surface Analysis by Gas Adsorption (SS-PDF) and X-Ray Diffraction Analysis by the polycrystalline powder method (XRD).

La Poveda Experimental Farm

La Poveda Experimental Farm

A 62 ha farm located in Arganda del Rey (Madrid), in the margin of the Jarama river. Numerous experiments are conducted on dry-land and irrigated crops as well as in horticultural crops. Although most of the studies conducted correspond to ICA projects, numerous activities are related with projects in cooperation with other CSIC centres, universities and private companies.

Analysis of Soils, Plants and Waters

Analysis of Soils, Plants and Waters

The Service can carry out determinations of bioavailable elements, nutrients and inorganic contaminants in samples of soils, plants and other materials. Analyses of metallic elements as well as anions in liquid samples are also possible. We try to cover all the analytical needs coming from ICA researchers, from researchers in other CSIC centers and universities and from private companies.

Library

Library

The library of the ICA is equipped with a very interesting documentary. Books, journals and online resources available here are aimed to satisfy bibliographical and documentary needs of ICA PhD students and researchers as well as outside users.

Geo-spatial technologies for the study of agro-forestry systems

Geo-spatial technologies for the study of agro-forestry systems

This Service provides researchers and other users with the acquisition of spatial information of crops and forests through remote-sensing platforms, mainly based on drones and diverse sensors (visible-RGB, multi-spectral). In addition, processing and analysis of the remotely-sensed data and images with customised algorithms and/or commercial software is offered, which allows to generate a georeferenced and high-quality product adapted to the user’s requirements.
